Could you tell us what motivated and inspired you to pursue a career in the technology sector? What are you currently specializing in?

Since I was a child, I’ve always been interested in how mobile phones and computers work, and how the applications that run on them are created. That’s where my interest in computing in general and programming in particular comes from. Currently, I specialize in ITSM tool consulting and web development.

Over time, we’ve seen more and more people choosing to train in this sector. Could you give some advice on the challenges they may face after completing their studies?

One of the main challenges a person may face upon completing their training, especially in this sector, is the uncertainty about their future and the job they will hold. Therefore, I believe that, although it is essential to acquire a solid foundation of knowledge during the training phase, it is essential to maintain continuous learning and constant evolution to become as versatile as possible.

Moving on to your professional life, could you tell us about your career at Bluemara Solutions?

I started at Bluemara Solutions as an intern in early 2021, after completing my studies in Web Application Development. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to train and expand my knowledge of multiple ITSM/ITAM tools, implement projects for large clients, and manage second-level incident resolution.

What do you consider to have been your greatest challenges within the company?

I believe that every new tool you learn and every project is a challenge in itself. However, I would especially highlight those extensive projects that have involved working with multiple applications and developing large integrations and solutions.

In the four years you’ve been working as a consultant, you’ve shared experiences with different colleagues. What do you value most or take away from them?

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to have met some great colleagues. What I value most is the unity within the team and knowing that if you need anything, you can always count on them.

Of all the problems you’ve had to solve on a daily basis, what was the most spontaneous and creative solution you came up with that worked the first time?

I remember, while migrating and upgrading a client environment, I kept getting an ambiguous error. I decided to check the storage on the new SQL server, and that was precisely the problem..

We’re already in lockdown, which leads to a heavier workload and can decrease our ability to focus. What do you usually do to clear your mind and recharge your projects?

Going to the gym or playing padel tennis are activities that help me take my mind off work. I also find it helpful to listen to podcasts about soccer, as well as current economic and political topics.

To conclude the interview, we’d like to pose this situation: Imagine if technology disappeared for a week. How would you manage to survive? And, also, how would you explain your job to someone who’s never had access to the internet?

If technology were to disappear for a week, I think I would focus on simple, physical activities, like spending more time with family and friends or doing outdoor activities.

To explain my job to someone without internet access, I would say that I’m dedicated to understanding the problems companies face when organizing their work and proposing solutions that optimize and automate them.
